Gomora, 72-year-old Black Panther actor Connie Chiume passes away

Actor Connie Chiume, a 72-year-old Gomora and Black Panther star, has away.

In a brief message, her family announced the news on her verified Instagram account.

“The Chiume family regrets to inform you of the passing of the international[ly] acclaimed award-winning actress Connie Chiume,” said a portion of the message.

On Tuesday, August 6, she passed away at Garden City Hospital; her cause of death remained undisclosed.

Her upset daughter told News24 that the information was true.

The Chiume family assured me that further information will be available soon.

Chiume’s most well-known performance was in the e.tv serial opera Rhythm City as Mamokete “Kete” Khuse, a mother figure and virtuous lady in the imaginary town. She performed in the part from 2007 until 2016.

She also had appearances in Gomora, Soul City, Mazinyo Dot Q, Zone 14, and Mazinyo Dot Q.

Chiume’s roles in Beyonce’s Black Is King (2020) and the Marvel movie Black Panther (2018) received a lot of praise.

Four grown children are left behind by her.
