‘Octomom’ Nadya Suleman Becomes a Grandmother for the First Time

The media star, known as “Octomom” after giving birth to the first set of surviving octuplets in history in 2009, said on Sunday, September 22, that one of her boys had received a child of his own.

Suleman, 49, posted a picture of the her daughter’s small foot poking out from behind a pink blanket on Instagram.

The actress, a mother of fourteen, tweeted, “Thank you my son and my lovely daughter in law for giving us this beautiful gift! ” She did not specify which of her ten sons had received the baby. She is a wonderful new addition to our family, and we feel very fortunate.”

“You are very adored, baby girl, and we can’t wait to see how you develop! 8/30/24 🙏🏽❤️,” Suleman said, ostensibly disclosing that the child was born on August 30.

When Suleman gave birth to her octuplets, Noah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, Makai, Maliyah, and Nariyah, fifteen years ago, she already had six children: Amerah, Calyssa, Elijah, Caleb, Joshua, and Aidan.

Suleman continued to post family images on social media after withdrawing from the limelight in 2013. On August 21, she celebrated her son Joshua’s 21st birthday by sharing many childhood photos of him and implying in the caption that he was the one who had received a baby.

“I’m very proud of the guy you’re growing into. You are a wonderful spouse and soon-to-be parent who is also intelligent, humorous, hardworking, loyal, and modest,” she added.

Prior to that, Suleman posted a few pictures and a video of her family celebrating her July 11 birthday. She made a wish, and the children sang “Happy Birthday” to her before she blew out a candle on a cake.

“Kids, I want to thank you for making my birthday yesterday so amazing! On July 13, she wrote as the caption, “I love you all ❤️.”

On January 27, Suleman also shared a cute flashback picture of her octuplets to commemorate their 15th birthday, saying, “I am so proud of the young adults you are growing into!”

Suleman was jobless when she gave birth to her octuplets, so she went to a number of side projects to help support her family, such as boxing, nude picture shoots, pornography, and trying to trademark her moniker “Octomom”.

The mother of fourteen revealed, “I had stopped wanting to do it from day one,” while discussing her choice to give up her “Octomom” fame in an interview with PEOPLE in 2016.

“I was going against my morals, my boundaries, and who I was.” I was in survival mode and was doing all I could to support my kids, so I didn’t give it much thought at the time,” she said.

There was undoubtedly a trigger, she said, “my girls, especially my oldest daughter Ameerah.” She began incorporating my characteristics and mannerisms when she was about ten.”

“I understood at that point that I’d rather be homeless in my van with all 14 kids than continue down this route after seeing my daughter start to copy me and seeing her go down that same possibly disastrous path. I didn’t want that for my kids,” Suleman said.
